MILOŠ J. KOHOUT
ART PORTFOLIO
HUMAN/INHUMAN
Art is not always easy. Sometimes it's the storm that overwhelms you and leaves you scarred and feeling like you no longer know what's certain and what's not. But not everything is bad in the storm: the lightning is beautiful, the thunder shakes your heart. And behind all the noise is peace, and then there will be silence.
Often emotional, human, and even political, Miloš J. Kohout's always striking work draws us into his soul. His large format, uneven canvases, fighting against the square rules of frames, force us to rethink perspective as they aggressively occupy our field of vision. The terrible characters he paints are the monsters we face every day, inside and outside of ourselves. The emotions that radiate from people and situations are captured on screen. His vivid, disturbing and terrifying characters are here in dialogue with you. The goal is to keep you, the viewer, on edge, which isn't always comfortable and reassuring, although it's also beautiful

PAINTING
Painting is life's drug, the smell of colors engulfs you and the power of the canvas will not let you go, there is no escape.
NOISY WORLD OF SILENCE
PHOTO
Capturing a story in a single moment of storytelling, composition, thought, emotion and heart connected to the eye that decided at that moment and the finger pressed the camera shutter.
MOTION PICTURE
VIVID IMAGES
"Who could live today without magic, without a little dreaming?"
declared the famous Georges Méliès, and he was right. Moving images and dreams captivated Kohout for a longer time than he expected, thanks to his pictorial and photographic thinking. An optical illusion that fascinated him even as a small child. This world also allowed him to play thanks to post-production technologies, which he was with right from the start and thus got the green light for his start.
